The vibe is really cool because of this in my opinion
I’m willing to bet those stairs were avoided back in the old days. Couldn’t imagine the crack heads or nuggets using those stairs as bait.

Duluth has streets that are just as steep as San Francisco and are sometimes extremely treacherous in the winter.

Echo park in L.A. 3 of the 10 steepest streets in the country are in Echo park. I didn't even know this until recently. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/...n_4871559.html

I think our steepest street is about 25 degrees from what I read. Relative to the Midwest, Duluth is probably one of the most topographically technical cities. I think most of the listing on here have still exceeded us. Most people who know of Duluth are assuredly aware of the hills. They are definitely treacherous in winter and make riding the bus to work very worth it (someone else can deal with the driving).
