I always hear people on here talking about this thing like its some interconnected huge area that functions as one. I never hear anyone here say "oh ya know I'm flying into the Bost-Washi megalopolis tommorrow" or something so its kinda weird to me?

I dunno...does it exist to non eastern-boosters?

is washington dc(below mason dixon line) anything like boston?

Yes it does exist and I learned that in middle or high school in CA. There are several megalopolis regions in the US such as the San-San in CA but none of the other terms/names are as popular as the Bos-Wash term used.

Yes, it exist.

Washington DC and Boston are about 430 miles apart.

So, in a 430 mile span you have Washington DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC and Boston. As you can see, that is a lot of cities to have in that small of a span

Pretty odd thread you've got here.

Well, considering that the word megalopolis was actually redefined and used as a direct description for the BosWash megalopolis, then yes, it exists BY DEFINITION. It's a bit like when someone looked at a rose and coined the name "rose" for it and then it caught on and people called a rose a rose before someone asked, "Is a rose a rose?"

Bost-Washi does not exist... Bos-Wash, however, does exist.

No, it doesn't exist. There's no such cities as Boston or Washington D.C., and there's nothing in between them.

NOW, I see the point of this thread. I remember your post from the past.

This thread is nothing more for you to boost the west coast and put down the northeast.

Don't forget the smaller cities and suburbs along the I-95 corridor.
