Name cities that you would considered Temp. cities.

What I'm talking about is cities where people use them, get what they want, and leave.

example: Military towns

I've noticed many people label the sunbelt as temp. cities because of our low costs and cheap houses.

The Sunbelt is not temporary because people don't leave. Some people leave, but the majority stay. A lot of places could be labeled as temporary. The Northeast is a temporary city to a lot of people from outside the region. They come here to attend an Ivy League college (or another college in the Northeast that gets stereotyped as good) and then leave. California cities could be viewed as temporary because a lot of people move due to the high cost of living. Washington DC is temporary because the president lives there for 4 or 8 years then leaves. Politicians in general might move to Washington DC, get what they want, and leave.

Anywhere in the Sunbelt - there are so many out-of-staters there it's ridiculous.

^Yeah, that's true - but they aren't leaving, they continue to flood in even during these crazy times.

New York is very temporary, along with D.C..

I wouldn't exacty say the sunbelt is temporary because lots of people move here expecting just to make lots of money and move to a much more desirable place, but end up really liking it here and staying. Texas alone is a good example of this, were the pride is amazing. Florida is a great retirement place.

Historically? Look up mining towns during the gold rush days. Cities of 100,000 or more disappearing totally at the end.
