I like how apparent the increasing connections are with the Washington DC-Baltimore map, as it shows that the areas began establishing a connection in development between them as early as the 1960s. They have since only grown much more together since that time period.
Pretty cool. I think it's interesting how in many metro areas, outlying small towns seem to reach peak growth at some point only to get completely swallowed by the central city's sprawl.
