Orlando or Tampa? In terms of safety, raising children, crime, cost of living, weather, etc. We might relocate to Florida and we can choose between Orlando or Tampa. Any information will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

They're pretty much equivalent in terms of safety, raising children and cost of living. Since it's on the coast, the Tampa Bay area's climate tends a bit milder and depending upon where you are a coastal breeze can come into play. In terms of things to do they're fairly equivalent as well. Each area has it's own feel and would recommend visiting (as a local versus a tourist) to see which appeals more to you. You might also post this in the general Florida forum for a more balanced response. It's kind of like posting in the Peanut Butter forum asking if one prefers Peanut Butter, or Jelly.

I would prefer Tampa because your near the beach.

Crime does exist in both places but is easily avoidable as long as you stay away from the bad parts of town. Weather is the same mostly, it's in Florida so tropical weather, but Tampa gets cool breezes from the ocean, however it also gets more tropical storms.
