Hmm... I know MSP offers a great variety of those things mentioned. DFW being much larger probably offers more amenities, but I do like the urban fabric in MSP. The fact that Uptown is South of Downtown in Minneapolis irks me though. lol

Which region do you prefer?
Arts: Minneapolis.
Architecture: I say Minneapolis, but I can understand the argument for Dallas. Dallas has a larger collection of skyscrapers, but I don't think their aesthetic quality overall is as good as Minneapolis.
Corporate Presence: Dallas.
Scenery: Hmmm... Dallas doesn't have much of a river, but they do a nice job incorporating it within the fabric of the city and making it accessible. I guess I give the edge to Minneapolis, just because it has a more intact tree canopy, and all of the lakes.
Downtowns, Neighborhoods: I'd say Dallas for downtown, and Minneapolis by a hair for neighborhoods.
Transit: Dallas, by a hair.
Airport: Dallas
Sports Stadiums: Minneapolis, by a hair.
Climate: Dallas, by a long shot.

thanks guys, let's keep this thread going!. here are my opnions..

Arts: Minneapolis
Architecture: MSP, it has a better looking skyline and housing stock.
Corporate Prsence: Dallas, simply becuase of higher GDP and more big companies. I respect MSP's homegrown corporate presence more though. In terms of innovation and creation, MSP wins hands down.
Scenery: MSP by a long shot. Nothing in DFW can compete with the lush enviorment, 7 big urban lakes, numerous parks and trails, an urban waterfall, river bluffs and rolling hills (in St Paul) all within the cities.
Downtown, Neighborhoods: MSP has a much more vibrant downtown, higher Dt population, more workers suprisingly. That being said, I think Dt Fort Worth has more character than Dt Dallas. MSP has better neighborhoods.
Transit: DART has the more extensive LRT network, but their bus system is garbage. Metro Transit's current and future LRT lines are better planned and they have a much better bus network.
Airport: DFW is bigger. MSP is in a better location and is on the LRT line. I think MSP is more pleasant to be in.
Stadiums: Even when Target Center gets their renovation, AAC will still be nicer. Target Field is nicer than Rangers Ballpark and I think the new Vikings stadium and Cowboys stadium will be evenally matched. Overall MSP stadiums are in a better location, all downtown, all on the LRT lines. It's mind boggling how even after Dallas built the DART network, they still bulit their baseball and football stadiums in Arlington where there's no LRT access, forcing people to still drive to the games. All so Jerrah can price gouge people with $70 parking? The stupidity and short-sightedness of it all is comical.
Climate: I slightly prefer Dallas though it's pretty neutral. I prefer MSP from late April through late October, Dallas from mid October until mid May.

I grew up in the Twin Cities and currently live in DFW. I have fond memories of MSP and wouldn't mind going back there someday to raise a family. Dallas is okay. I like the warm winters and the people are great, but the region itself is pretty bland and unintresting. It's not likely I'll stay here for much longer if the opportunity comes up.

I can see your perspective here, but I dunno about the skyline comment though.

Here's a thread I did similar to this if you want to see some more responses!

-Arts Twin Cities
-Architecture Dallas/FW (imo)
-Corporate Presence Dallas/FW
-Scenery Twin Cities by a bit
-Downtowns, Neighborhoods Minneapolis>Dallas>St Paul=Ft Worth
-Transit Dallas/FW from my understanding
-Airport Dallas/FW
-Sports Stadiums This is pretty equal
-Climate Equal. Both are pretty extreme
