It's PHILLY, with a Y. Either way, just put Philadelphia.

I also don't understand how places like LA, Miami, Denver, Dallas, or Austin are involved in a poll about cities with the best architecture but hey that's just me.

For the most variety, I'd say Philadelphia. For the best, most intact "old" architecture, I'd say Boston with DC a close 2nd and Philadelphia 3rd. For older extravagance, New York with Chicago a close 2nd (Philadelphia would be in there too except the city bulldozed so much of its old, extravagant architecture). Lastly, for unique, older architecture I'd have to say New Orleans.

Out of that list, at least.

Personally, I think cities like York and Lancaster have some of the most impressive older architecture anywhere. It's like going back in time.

The answer is not on this list. I will get laughed at for saying this but it's the God's honest truth. The answer is Buffalo, NY. No other city's housing stock comes close in general. It's seen better days for sure but the housing stock in the city of Buffalo is some of the best in the country. Some great art deco buildings downtown too. I voted for Boston because it would be a close 2nd in my book. But Buffalo is a gem for victorian architecture in America. Way moreso than San Francisco even.

You should have added Buffalo to that list. Unbelievable architecture.

Yes! You are correct and you will be laughed at!

Seriously though, I voted for "other" because there are so many other cities that deserve recognition; not just Buffalo but also Detroit, Cincinnati, St Louis, Charleston, Cleveland etc.

However, IMO Buffalo still cannot compete with New York and Chicago.

Another city for the "other" vote might be Washington DC.

Ooops and I even voted for it.

Ok I take that back, don't vote for "other" for Washington DC, but do vote for "other" for Buffalo, St Louis, Detroit etc!
