As the title says, especially in and adjacent to the core.

Walksore ranks:
#20 Atlanta
#23 Houston
#30 Dallas
out of top 50 cities.
I said Atlanta as my personal opinion as well.

From what I've seen in these cities, there is no discernible difference between them when it comes to pedestrian-friendliness.

According to Walk Score, Atlanta scores a 53, Houston scores a 50, and Dallas scores a 47. Not really much of a difference there.

That's a bit misleading--Atlanta's borders and population are much smaller than either Houston or Dallas.

33% of Atlanta residents have a walkscore at 70+ (140k residents) vs 20% in Houston (420k) and 21% in Dallas (240k). The percentage favors Atlanta, but the total numbers favor Houston by a large margin.

I have heard Walkscore completely ignores the existence of MARTA because it doesn't release the right sort of data. Is this true?

Sooooooo...Atlanta should be penalized for having smaller borders? Why don't we add Boston and Philly.Philly is almost the same size as Atlanta.
I stand by my opinion.

What I noticed from walkscore is that Dallas and Atlanta have about the same amount of "green" aka walkable areas as Houston - but the difference is that the "green" areas immediately fall off into bold "red" aka unwalkable areas, while Houston more gradually shifts into "yellow" areas, aka somewhat walkable.

I think I would go with Houston first, Atlanta second and Dallas third. Atlanta is not being "penalized" for being smaller, by considering the context of its smaller borders it makes less of a penalty for Dallas and Houston's large borders.

Atlanta has the densest neighborhoods of all three, but Houston is all around the most walkable.
