Texas Children's in Houston ranked 4th. That's the highest ranked in the South

MD Anderson once again ranks 1st for Cancer

St Lukes ranks 6th for Cardiology (Highest in the South for those who don't include MD in the South)

MD Anderson ranks 5th for Ear, Nose and Throat and 6th for Gynecology (Highest in the South excluding MD)

Menninger ranks 4th for Psychiatry (highest in the South Excluding MD)

TIRR Memorial Hermann ranks 3rd for rehabilitation (highest in the south)

Nice, hospitals in the Texas Medical center ranks in the top ten in 6 of the 16 categories and in the top 4 for Childrens Hospitals. Not bad.

In terms of individual Hospitals Methodist was nationally ranked in 13 Categories, The highest in the South beating out Vanderbilt (11 specialties).

Any Hospital on the Honor Roll is considered World Class. Where would you have ranked it and which hospitals would have shifted down?

It's a good sign if your hospital is on the honor roll. The order of ranking is less important. If I needed a heart transplant, though, you better believe I'm making my way to Cleveland Clinic. I'm also proud to say I've worked for 2 of these hospitals (previously UPMC and currently Northwestern)

Tied with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

It is peculiar how Penn slipped 5 spots on the honor roll from 2011 to 2012. Must have been some shifting in US News' methodology this year. At any rate, being on the honor roll at all is extremely noteworthy and prestigious.
