I agree. For a city its size, L.A.'s skyline is nothing special but it doesn't really need a good skyline to be considered an important city. It's layout is pretty much the anti-thesis of most large American cities.

I'm not too sure about the movie industry growing over there. I hear that quite a few studios are moving elsewhere

Well, from what I've seen on this thread there's a few LA people who have a chip on their shoulder towards NY. And NYers... just feel extremely superior. Which they are in size and many other things, but it doesn't necessarily make them higher "quality".
