That link no longer works on Salon's website, and I guess between 2011 and now they deleted this article? But per finding this other thread, here were the top 10 back when this article came out in 2011. I'd like to see an updated article, myself:

https://www.city-data.com/forum/city-...s-america.html

1) Milwaukee
2) New York
3) Chicago
4) Detroit
5) Cleveland
6) Buffalo
7) St. Louis
8) Cincinnati
9) Philadelphia
10) Los Angeles

Not surprised that no Southern metros crack the top 10. The South is largely very integrated, with good black representation in its middle classes and local governments, and coastal urban liberals give ourselves way too many pats on the back for our "diversity".

Add inner Baltimore, near the Harbor in the 1970s. I have no idea how it is today.

It’s largely representative of post 1965 population growth vs anything else

The Midwest seems to be most segregated region followed by the Northeast. The South and West are more integrated IMO.

That and early enslavement of African people in order to get the bulk of that Southern black population. Similar in regards to the Hispanic population out West in terms of early western migration, with the West also being the closest point of entry into the country for Asians.

Baltimore isn't that segregated as you all would think. That's why it's not on the list.

In 2010 Baltimore and Boston had identical levels of segregation. Which in my experience is accurate.
