Which city in the US is very similar to NYC that it could be considered a 6th borough because of its vibrancy, culture, and history?

Jersey City/Hoboken is the answer

from your list though Philly has the most in common with NYC, on proximity, feel and composition

Yonkers or Jersey City/Hoboken.

If you wanna go further than possibly Newark too.

But DC, SF, and Pittsburgh shouldn't be on that poll.
SF is on the west coast, Pitts feels midwestern, and DC is southern.

There is no such thing as a 6th borough of NYC.

Cities outside of New York State cannot be boroughs of NYC. So I would choose Yonkers as the best candidate for a 6th borough.
