smaller cities rise fast, that is why New York can gain a million people and not be anywhere near the top fastest growing cities, but a city like Gilbert, would gain 10 000 and be one of the fastest growing cities.
So what they are saying is that rates can be deceiving when you are comparing a city to another 10x its size.

You cannot compare Augusta to DC or Houston. In a bad year either of the two has greater growth than Augusta

Do you mean growth rate in population? That's still to be seen when the census comes out.

Or do you mean the economy growth rate? Yes, DC 6.9% is higher than Augusta, but the 1.4% change in Augusta is better than .1% in Houston..

Brookings - Quality. Independence. Impact.

a 1.4% in not better than a .1% if that 1.4 amounts to 6 thousand and the .1 percent amounts to 150 thousand

D/FW

Don't forget to put the forward slash or hyphen.

Fort Worthians get just as upset over that as when you abbreviate their name to Ft. Worth. What the hell, I just call them Funky Town or Cowtown.

well Arlington was classified as a major city in the metro about 5 years ago, so it is the Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlinton metro now.

The guy does it all the time. It really makes Augusta, an otherwise fine city, look bad.
