The best mall city:
Houston > Dallas = Atlanta > Miami

Best shopping city:
Miami > Dallas > Atlanta > Houston

Best city for a shopper:
1. Miami
2. Dallas
3. Atlanta
4. Houston

Houston point of view, it is not hard for me to give the credit where it rightfully is deserved. The other three cities are better in this, no need to get upset, perhaps in the next thread with these four cities we shall see things go a different way? lol

Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza together can't be beat for upscale shopping, but the biggest and most unique mall in the Atlanta region is Mall of Georgia -- it's like a theme park in there!

No thats pretty false dude Miami its at the top for upscale then Dallas then Houston then Atlanta. Soon Atlanta will fit somewhere in the middle are be even with Houston. Lenox has been adding more and more stores. Fendi and Zegna are opening soon. Then streets of Buckhead. Atlanta beats Houston for more shopping destanations.

Dallas and Atlanta beating or competing with Houston as far as upscale shopping is fairly recent. Once Houston was considered more upscale. Houston is still the best out of the three when it comes to local boutiques according to fashionistas.

People underrate Houston though; outside of the Galleria. You have Memorial City Mall which is fairly upscale; than the booming Willowbrook and Baybrook Mall. Also you have Houston Premium Outlets which is still expanding.

don't forget highland Village, The Shops at Rice and those on West Gray near River Oaks.

I think the question was BEST mall not necessarily most upscale mall, and for what it offers Mall of Georgia in Buford is hard to beat. I like that it has themed areas representing different regions of the state, IMAX and other entertainment options, a town square, outdoor shopping village (attached to the enclosed mall) and tons of dining and retail locations that are rare or unique to the market. Only downside is that it's 35 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta and thus not real convenient for much of the metro. It was designed to be a destnation mall, and that's what it is,

Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale FL can match that. Festival Bay in Orlando can match that also.

Outside of Dallas in Grapevine, there is an Outlet Mall called Grapevine Mills.
