What new skyscrapers are going up in your city? In NYC, the new WTC is going up. In Philly, the Comcast Center, the new tallest building in the city just went up last year. But what about what's going up or really may go up in your city? I understand that there is a website called emporis.com It does have good information on all skyscrapers around the world. However, sometimes I find plans and projects missing from their list. Hence, what's going up in the city where you live?

WOW! That does look cool. I understand that Miami is indeed seeing the Manhattenization of its downtown. When is it going up?

I believe groundbreaking will be 2012. It should be completed by 2015-2016.

Too many to list:

Here is a link for every single project Houston has planned, is constructing, is proposed, and for a minor few- got canceled.

HOUSTON | Development Thread II - SkyscraperPage Forum

Enjoy. I would throw Los Angeles & Chicago in there too but I don't follow their projects enough since they are great cities already.

Holy smokes! Why are cities building anything right now? I can't see the justification for a condo tower for instance, maybe an apartment tower. Office vacancies in most metros are very high as well, and unemployment continues to drag that market down. Let's just say I hope none of these are spec towers!

I think he meant the rapid transformation of a skyline, ala Manhattan-style, which I think Miami is done with, its high-rise boom is over.
