I'm looking into getting a V-6 Sedan and I'm interested in something American "muscley" as opposed to the excellent reliability of Camry and Accord. While these cars are great in quality they are extremely boring and at 27 I can't see myself driving one.

I like the Charger's looks but have not test-driven one yet. Anyone have any experience with one...I'd be interested to hear ...

I know they are popular... just Google Senator Don Perata and Car Jack.

California's Esteemed Senator was Car Jacked two weeks ago in the Bay Area. The Police believe he was targeted because he was driving a Red Charger with 22 inch rims...

Well, the Accord V6 out-muscles/handles/brakes the Charger V6 something fierce. There is the whole RWD vs FWD thing though to which the Charger wins, but other than that, a Charger V6 is like a Mustang V6... a sheep in wolf clothing, all show no go, etc.

JMO I wouldn't own anything newer than a 1973-74 Charger, albeit being underpowered.

Depending on the power plant they can be very fast. It is actually decent on fuel mileage and turns heads. They have room inside and are comfortable. I think they look sharp. The hemi engine uses four cylinders in normal use.

The SE has 2.7 V6 190 hp
The SXT has a 3.5 V6 250 hp engine
The RT has a 5.7 V8 hemi 340 hp
And the SRT8 has a 6.1 V8 425

So as you can see the power is there. Even the SE with 190hp is a quick car.

The SRT has almost the same horsepower as the legendary 426 hemi with a lot less weight. Everyone I know that has one loves it. Also the Dodge Avenger is sharp and are turning heads on the road. EW

Having driven one each: 2.7L, 3.5L, 5.7L and an SRT-8 with its 6.1L; I would go with either the bigger V6 or the regular 5.7L Hemi-------the 2.7L is too slow and the 6.1L up to 100 MPH ain't that much faster than the smaller Eight.

Always thought the new Dodge Charger was one wicked looking car, until... My wife bought a Chrysler Crossfire, put it in the shop and got a Charger for a loaner. I was really happy until I drove it. What a dog! Couldn't break traction in an oil field. Got crappy mileage. The window control broke through the console and couldn't get the windows down again. Not very comfortable, either. Should'a retired the "Charger" name in 1974. What a shame!

Sounded like a 2.7L V6 model------avoid those.

They are probably no better on gas than the 3.5L V6 cars and are much slower.

The only Charger worth 1/2 a crap is the SRT-8.
