What were the symptoms of the truck before installing the starter? Why was that deemed necessary?

Timer modules on these are NOTORIOUS for crapping out, get thee a proper diagnosis.

found out it was the battery but new problem popped up the dash where the odometer and everything is wont work even when started so what fuse goes to that?
