I haven't either, yhwhshalomjr, but I did have family that was standoffish at one time for a long time. Now they are interested in God, and attend services more than I do. Please share. God bless.
Yhwhshalomjr, I think you may remember some of my history so yes I know what it feels like to be not only abandoned, but cast out and talked about, called an apostate and not a real Christian, etc because my belief was not what exactly like theirs was..
Time and a more personal relationship with Him are healing me..I have come in contact with many wonderful people here and what a blessing that has been..I am very protective in rl of the depth of my faith, because I don't want to cause any more hard feelings in the family..so I avoid being in any discussions of their doctrine or scripture with them..
God knows your heart heart and that is the important thing..Prayers for you..

Y'know what, talk to God about it.
He'll help you to see it in the right way that will bring you peace.
He is always there for us.
This person who has abandoned you... one day you will hold hands and praise our Father, together. Keep that picture in your mind. Because it WILL happen. In the meantime, just talk to God and wish them peace and forgive the person for abandoning you. This will make you stronger.
We walk through the valleys and we walk on the mountain tops, but it is truly the valleys where we do the most growing.
