Although, I had not heard this particular theory until recently, I am convinced this is quite accurate. Early theologians believed that Christ would return at the end of 6,000 years. That part I knew about. The following breakdown, in relation to the 7 day creation referenced in Genesis, is what I hadn't heard before.

1st day = 1,000 years
2nd day = 1,000 years
3rd day = 1,000 years
4th day = 1,000 years
5th day = 1,000 years
6th day = 1,000 years
7th day = 1,000 years = millennial reign of Christ

7 days = 7,000 years

This is the simplest way I could break this down without going into great detail. I receive a monthly magazine called "Prophecy in the News", and there is a 5 page article in the magazine written by J.R. Church that goes into great detail, with a continuance to be in the July issue.

The devil is taunting me today, by a scientologist in DM's. I was just told that I am ignorant after trying to tell them how to accept Christ and to be prepared. I feel more than ever that I should post this now because of this. I had been debating about starting a thread on this for days, and I think since the devil is trying so hard to discourage me that I'm going to try even harder for Christ.

In Revelation, the millennial reign of Christ is stated six times to be 1,000 years in length. That's got to be more than a coincidence, since from the creation of Adam to the Second Coming of Christ, God has determined six 1,000 year periods of human history.

This gives a whole new meaning to the references in the Bible that the Lord views a day as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day. This is just one more plausible reason to believe that Christ's return is imminent. The 6,000 years are over.......it's time for the 1,000 year reign of Christ, His "day" of rest for us. Come, Lord Jesus.

I would whole heartily agree with this statement.
I think though, it would surprise many mainstream Christians if\when the 1000 year is not literal, but more like as Peter said about 1000 years is like a day. That the rapture and end of the world are not two events but one.

One thing I can absolutely guarantee, it will be much clearer when we can look back at it and say....ooooh, now it makes sense.
Be that as it may, we both await the Lords coming.

I can feel it all coming soon, with things in the world starting to fall in place, think about it, in revelation, doesn't it mention a war between two armies, one under God and the Other under the Devil at Mageddon, hence Armageddon, and guess where Mageddon is, Israel, the hated country to the Muslims and the Loved country to the West. With Iran being led under what ever their leaders name is and with us trying to reduce dependence on the middle east (imagine Saudi Arabia's thrill) I really think several Muslim Countries will try to invade Israel, and the West will counter, thus setting the stage for Armageddon.

It is coming soon....right at our doorsteps. Yes, I believe what is happening in Israel is probably the most important factor of end time prophecy. No matter what we believe about the rapture (I have family members that believe ALL will have to go through the tribulation) it's a general feeling among Christians that the time is now. The tribulation is about to begin, if it hasn't already. I think America's fate, which is not good, will spark the beginning of the end.

With America (some view it as the Biblical "Babylon") out of the way as a super power, it would be easy for the AntiChrist to swoop in and appear to have the answers to the world's problems with the one world government. I feel that our fate centers around the election in November. I don't like being negative......I wish the end of all things was not going to take place. But as Christians we have to be ready and know the signs, which are unfortunately here. Biblical prophecy says so.

If we go one step further in the Day to the lord is a thousand years scripture, it is also possible that the creation days were on God's time as well.

godspeed,

freedom

Jesus told His disciples right there with Him that THEY were to know that His coming was soon when THEY saw the signs--it was to THEM--at the doors. Study the context!

The signs are NOT here DOTL--those signs mentioned in Matthew 24 and elsewhere were NOT for us. Study the context!

"I believe." "I think." "I feel." What saith the Scriptures?

Again, you boldly proclaim--"It is coming SOON." Please stop using the word, "soon," until you acknowledge that the inspired writers of the Scriptures (which you profess to know) are allowed by you to use that term in the same sense you use it. I know you think I am being mean-spirited and contentious, but I really only desire that we all study carefully and thoroughly the passages we use before we attempt to make some set-in-cement doctrine out of them. Please study the context of the verses you use. We are all accountable for how we divide the Word of Truth and for what we teach others!

In Christ, Preterist

I don't think you are mean spirited, just misinformed. And yes I and others do boldly say Jesus is coming SOON.
