Does anyone know what is meant by a Nazarene teacher. It is used in this sentence: «It is interesting to see how agnostic or atheist debaters on TV often show more respect to the Nazarene teacher in this regard than their ecclesiastical opponents» Thanks

Perhaps they're referring to Jesus, since he was from Nazareth? He was a "Nazarene", since he was from Nazareth...just like a person from Iowa is an "Iowegian".
Yes probably the closet some people will say the name of Jesus ... Nazarene sect had halos over their heads and never drank wine or eat grapes and never cut their hair prayer locks .. Some of the Nazarenes in the bible were Daniel , Moses, Samson , Jesus was called one ....

What is the source of the quote? It sounds to me like the "teacher" being commended is from the Church of the Nazarene
Btw, there is a BIG difference between a Nazarene and a Nazirite.

And a person from Maine is a Maniac.
Don't believe me ? Ask any person from Maine. They are proud of that !

Agreed.....I actually made that point in a sermon last weekend. I put both words up on the screen and defined the terms. I personally was confused by that years ago when I first encountered the word "Nazirite" in the Bible.
