The OT accounts of the murder of children and pregnant women is graphic, violent, cruel, and clearly un-Godly. No need from my part to embellish or describe the verses in detail. The verses are clear and to the point
Some of the excuses provided by the Sola Scriptura folks are:
God instituted revenge in the form of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
Apologist Bill Lane Craig says: I have no right to take an innocent life. For me to do so would be murder. But God has no such prohibition. He can give and take life as He chooses.
God kills children to provide salvation for them. Therefore, God does these children no wrong in taking their lives.
Others including pat Robertson say that the babies deserved to die because the parents were idolatrists.
Others say the the babies and children inside the womb were already possessed by Satan.
And people wonder why I think the writers of the OT were a bunch of ignorant violent barbarians.

See this was the redemption which God had before Jesus , Good thing Jesus came ............See before Jesus came man and the devil had complete spiritual authority in the earth and God could do nothing but get some men to kill sinners to stop the devil and his evil , ..............So after Jesus came He was given the spiritual authority over the earth which by faith of the children of God could redeem sin from the earth even from sinners who will not repent to cleans the earth , as the children of God could bring the justice by asking forgivness for the sinners and Jesus will cleans the earth , even though the sinners would not go to heaven unless they obey and repent , the earth can be cleansed , Jesus has Spiritual authority now ............. The only problem now is that the children of God have gotten into divisions of antichrist and fall to seek the power of God for their intersession for the earth to bring a substantial change in the condition of the sin in the earth

Makes it sound like the OT god was weaker than "the devil" and no better.
God answers to no one. What He does is perfect and just.
A more plausible explanation would be that the OT was written by barbarians who had no concept of God and were just justifying their barbaric cruel murders. I guess murder in the name of God is rationalization.

You feel it is perfect and just to murder babies or to violently open the womb of pregnant women to kill unborn babies. What does that say about you? How do you rationalize your thought pattern? Do you accept the OT without thought and analysis? Do you realize it was written by men from a very primitive violent era.
Yep, the RCC of antiquity and the dark ages was run by ignorant violent people that justify wars and crusades. Primitive violent corrupt men like Pope Alexander were common in the past.
You are making the assumption that two wrongs make a right. I disagree, evil is evil regardless of who perpetrates evil. The killing of children is evil and the God described in the OT is the imagination of evil men. God does not do evil things because God is infinite goodness and compassion.
