That is half of the total seven years of the Tribulational period. The Tribulation is the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy (Dan 9:24-27). The first 69 weeks (of years) was fulfilled before Jesus was crucified. There yet remains to be fulfilled the 70th week of the prophecy. The 70th week will begin with the signing of a covenant with the many, which is mentioned in Dan. 9:27. In the middle of the week - the middle of the 7 year Tribulation, the antichrist will set up the abomination of desolation in the rebuilt temple. This is the dividing line between the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation and the second 3 1/2 years. The Jews who have understood Jesus' warning in Matthew 24: 15-16 will flee into the wilderness which God has prepared for them where they will be protected for the remaining 1260 days - 42 months, of the Tribulation. Revelation 12:14 refers to it as 'a time and times and a half a time'.
Therefore, the length of the Tribulational period is seven years.
Here is a prophetic Word from Jesus from January 1944 through the Prophet Maria Valtorta about these scriptures....;``The wise will understand satan`s pitfalls, satan`s countless pitfalls, because who ever possesses true Wisdom is enlighted, and by their faithfulness to Grace they will become pure and tried like fire, worthy of being chosen for Heaven ... The godless will follow evil and will do evil, unable as they are to understand Good, because of their own free wills they will have filled their hearts with evil.......Then the time will come when , crushed to an extent never reached before, the Church is not longer free to celebrate the perpetual Sacrifice , and the abomination will be lifted up on the Holy Place, and on the Holy places, just as the prophets have said and I have repeated. I who make no mistakes .....Daniel says : `There will be 1290 days`(of this oppression )..And said ; `Blessed is he that waits , and come unto 1335 days.......``This means that during the three years and six month coming before the end , a short time will be laid aside in the end for the faith full to gather to the last Words , resounding in their spirits, as an invitation to Heaven, while Michael with His angels crushes satan and his demons , `Blessed is he that will persevere unto the end` because he will be saved.``..........See Jesus explains that there will only be 3 and a half years , then as short time of 45 days to wait and be prepared to be with Jesus , and there is No mention of seven years time line of the popular hope of many in the Church today ....

A: The Milleniumist's rapture occures (whenever this eminent event occures)
+
B: The Milleniumist's 7 year trib ....... (whenever this eminent event + 7)
+
C: The Milleniumist's 1000 year reign number....... (whenever this eminent event + 7 + 1000 number)
=
The predicted year of Jesus' return after this "whenever this eminent event " occures.
** and yes, we have it on good authority that it's eminent**
Just got to ask:
Why haven't you responded to if Jesus had a wife ... since you're taking Daniel and Rev's descriptions of places \ numbers \ people literally,
I would think you'd have an millennial answer to it since Revelation 21:9 says:
One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.â€
....... let me guess, Lutherism's fault.

You've bought into all that nonsense that Lindsey, LaHaye, van Impe, Jefferies, and scores of other prophecy con artists peddle so they can bilk gullible Christians into forking over their money just to get an adrenaline rush dreaming about all this stuff being right around the corner.
Each time a riot erupts in the Middle East, Lindsey is out there on The Hal Lindsey Report trumpeting, "The Bible predicted wars and rumors of wars in the Middle East. Are we on the verge of the rapture? Buy my latest book, 'Late, Great, Planet Earth Volume 15', only $14.95 at you local bookstore." And Christians rush out by the millions to buy what is just a rehash of everything he wrote in thirty books before it.
Thanks Mike I forgot about 'a time and times and half of time'. - Rev.12:14
So why would you think a three and a half year period is written out in different word frames?
Twice As: 'one thousand two hundred and sixty days' - Rev.11:3 - Rev.12:6
Once As: 'a time and times and half a time' - Rev.12:14
Once As: 'forty two months'. - Rev.13:5
These 4 times in Rev.11 to Rev.13
Pandora, I think that the various ways in which the length of the last half of the Tribulation is expressed is to leave no doubt in the minds of those who will need to heed the warning to flee to the place which God has prepared for them, as to when they need to flee and as to how long they will have to wait until Christ returns to put an end to the Tribulation. Stating it in terms of 1260 days, 42 months, 'a time and times and half of time' provides an emphasis. It also benefits us who will never be in the Tribulation to understand the timeframe involved. Revelation was given to John by Jesus for the purpose of blessing those who read and heed what it says. Revelation is intended to be understood.
These time references also distinquish the Great Tribulation which is the last half of the total Tribulational period from the first half of the Tribulation. It is during the last half of the Tribulation that things will get really bad.

Wake up, Christians, you're being conned.
Amen and amen to that. They are making merchandise of the unlearned. Folks, save your money and read the Bible. They are false prophets no matter how good they sound. Hal Lindsey and Van Impe being two of the worst.

The people you mention did not write the Bible. Your comments are an insult to those who understand what the Bible teaches about the rapture and the Tribulation. Furthermore, your comments are off topic. The topic is the various ways in which the Bible designates the last half of the Tribulation; 42 months, 1260 days, 'a time and times and half of time.'
