What's the first thing that Jesus did that impressed His audience that He was someone special? At the same time ,why wasn't that enough to prove who He really was?

The healing of the demon-possessed man in the synagogue at Capernaum. How should this miracle help prove His identity?

probably the first time that anyone was aware that he was special was when he was 12 and stayed behind Mary and Joseph to talk with the teachers in the temple. It certainly illustrated that his interests were unusual to say the least. But it was not enough to PROVE beyond any doubt that he was God's son.

I don't think we are told that anyone actually saw the unclean spirt/demon leave the man, but they did see the results of the turmoil within and the quietness afterwards. This was certainly an indication that something important and unusual had happened. It's not everyday that one of the insane was cured. All happenings like this one added to his reputation.

One thing I never understood about the demon possesed man.The demons were afraid that Jesus was going to cast them out and they would have no body to house them. Then they entered into the swine and ran off a cliff and the swine died. So, at that point they still didn`t have a body. I never understood why they forced the swine over the cliff. Just curious.
