Okay, I am getting really annoyed. I read on the City of Chicago Sanitation webpage that they will pick up yard waste on the blue cart recycling pick up days, every other week April through November. I have 5 or 6 full paper yard waste bags that have been sitting out next to my trash and recycle carts since April 1st that have not yet been picked up. This morning, I saw them take 2 bags from one of my neighbors, but they left mine and I heard them yelling about not wanting to pick mine up, but I didn't hear their reasoning for not wanting to take mine.

Is there anything special I need to do to get them to take these things??? By the time they actually do pick them up, I will probably have like 10 of them and the bottom of the old ones will probably break when they pick them up from the paper bags getting wet. I know when I was a kid living out in the suburbs, my parents used to have to buy stickers to put on the bags; is that something I need to do?

I live in Ward 1 if that makes any difference. Thanks for any help!

You can call either the Alderman's office (773-278-0101) or the Ward Superintendent's office (312-744-5523). It's the Superintendent's job to make sure this is done, but you might want to call the Alderman so they can put some pressure on him.

I've been sneaking 40 or 50 lbs of dirt a week into my regular cans since early March. They are catching on now though, or at least I think they are, since my trash cans are now being lined up meticulously so as the block exit and entrance to the garage.

I'm almost to China, I can feel it.

More like I'm planting fruit and vegetables my backyard at the new apartment and would like to be able to reap what I sow without growing any extra limbs.
