I was wondering if any of you know of any theaters that show classic movies? I've looked online and all I can find is The Music Box Theater on Southport, Facets Cinematheque on Fullerton and a place at University of Chicago. I would imagine there should be more than that but I could be wrong. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the Historic Portage Theater! this place is a gem, though I prefer Music Box. Gene Siskel also shows classic films on occasion.

Since someone mentioned a theater in Aurora..

I'm gonna recommend the Holiday Star Theater in Park Forest.

They play classic movies sometimes. Tickets are 5 dollars at night and even cheaper if it's a matinee show.

The Gene Siskel Theater of the Art Institute of Chicago, or is it affiliates with another school (?), sometimes offers classic movie presentations. During warm Summer months, the Chicago Park District shows classics in open-air park environments scattered about the city. It's one of the good, free programs offered to the public.

The Gene Siskel Film Center is a good one...and they hold all types of film festivals year-round.
