**** that.

I divested myself of most of my property in Chicago; I sold to various organizations. I wonder what they'll do with it?

The rental income just wasn't worth the trouble. I don't want another year of losses by hundreds (or thousands, in 2008) of poorly assessed property taxes.

I'm holding onto my main home, but with zero intention of returning to Chicago anytime soon... or in the future... I think it's more of a time until I can sell it at a profit.

Chicago, and the midwest at large, needs to be far more critical of their difficulty in retaining people. Chicago is what I consider to be my home, but it isn't California or NYC; people will not flock back in droves.

Only people flocking to california are those from the third world. English speaking natives have gotten the hell out of dodge. Save the few too rich to care and those too poor to do anything about it.

Mexican immigration has dropped off sharply, and borders reports indicate swarms of people returning "home".
