A buddy of mine asked but I didn't know what to tell him, I was going to suggest Legal Helpers but they might be sketchy. Any thoughts?

First of all the easy bankruptcy laws of a couple of years ago are gone. Some attorneys have dropped general practice to concentrate only on bankruptcy. Some lawyers I talked to - they're friends - say it is very difficult now to get a bankruptcy and the judges are not granting much except medical as extreme circumstance. The cheapest I talked JD to a couple of years ago was $900. Good luck to your friend.

Peter Francis Geraci , I know 3 people just on my block alone that recently went through bankruptcy. One friend said it cost her $2000.00 total to file ($1700 for the paperwork and a $300 "closing" fee or something).

And as for the bankruptcy law changing making it harder , that is true , but from what I was told it is only those making over a certain amount of money (I believe it was under $45,000.00 a year and your "safe" from the new laws)

Tell your buddy good luck.
