Chicago is not LA or Vegas. It is a world class destination with world class food, drink and entertainment. It is neither Hollywood nor wall-to-wall casinos. Maywood is a black community. If I was a stranger in Chicago, I would not go there. And don't jump on a train if you do not know where you are going or any of the stops. Chicago and its suburbs is very unique and it sprawls. I expect it to be nearly a 100 miles wide. You cannot see it all in two weeks.

I suggest you do the following: 1. Google: Chicago, IL and Chinatown.
2- Buy the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune.
3. Get a map of the trains, and bus routes, and a city map.

Chicago has some awesome architecgture from the tallest structure (Chicago)to the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings in America (Oak Park). Chicago is famous for its Fannie May Candies, elegant jewelry, Second City Comedy Club, world class gourmet dining. You can find nearly every type of food in the world in Chicago neighborhoods.

Chinatown is a community where you will find clubs, people your age, grocery, druggist, doctor, newspapers, restaurants, churches, etc., as well as shops. If you are from China, as you say, you should feel comfortable.

Some of the day things you might enjoy: Lake tour, Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, Museum of Science and Industry, the Loop, Lincoln Park Zoo and this too. Its educational. Take you camera. Lincoln Park Zoo (http://www.lpzoo.com/ani_houses_rcaa.php - broken link)

You could visit Al Capone's grave. He's buried in Hillside.
