My Aunt lives in the Addison and Cicero area. Her house was broken into a few months ago. She was not home at the time thank God. I understand that houses in Chicago get broken into all the time.

Is that area of portage park getting bad? She has been in that house for 40 years. She does not wanna move.

Get her to sell while she still can get something for the house. In 5-10 years the value will plummet to the abyss.

^ Simple. Gangbangers and a lower economic/education/social level of people have moved in over the last decade or so. ^

They're moving away from the lake.

^ The away from the lake stuff started happening like 20 years ago (in huge numbers the last 5-10 years) but it is still going on to a point. I think this is more of a case of exodus from parts of Irving Park,Logan Square,Humboldt Park, and Avondale.^

Yes, I know a couple people from those areas you mentioned that have moved to the Portage Park area.

Hello People

I am new to this forum. I am planning on buying a house near Kilbourn Avenue & Roscoe across from the Kilbourn park.

Is this a good move considering how close this is from Addison & cicero?

Would really appreciate response.
