I am looking for a place less than 1000. A studio is okay.
Any personal experiences. Or any other suggestions on where to live

For less then a 1,000 you will have to look for a studio or some sort of roommate situation. You won't be able to swing a 1BR for 1,000 in LP. Generally, the closer to the lake is more desirable and the further from the lake is more inexpensive (same is true in Lakeview).

I am sure you can find a 1 bedroom, maybe even a 1bedroom + den in Lincoln Park for a grand. It just won't be in a newer doorman building. If you don't mind vintage or don't need parking included you should check out the Ranch Triangle/Wrightwood Neighbors or Depaul sections of LP. If you go into the Depaul Dominicks on Sheffield and Fullerton, they have a bulletin board with apartment listings posted and I've seen some pretty good deals listed there. Armitage Hardware on Armitage and Bissell also has fliers up near the entrance but they tend to have more 2 bedrooms available most of the time.

Does anyone know anything about the apartments at 633 W. Deming?

Lincoln Park Studios/1BR Open House SAT&SUN11-1!!! (http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/apa/1348943827.html - broken link)

They have studios listed for $625 and up. I've seen other places in this area listed for similar prices. But there's got to be a catch, right?

^^I don't know anything about the building but that stretch of Deming is very wealthy. The building is very close to the Ronald McDonald house where families of children that are at the children's hospital stay so those families' cars on top of the already nearly impossible parking in east LP will make living there a nightmare if you own a car. The church on the block is also very popular so expect a lot of walkers and some people noise on Sunday mornings. Otherwise it is a wonderful area and incredibly walkable.

Well for one, finding free street parking around there is next impossible on a regular basis. But if you do not have a car then you do not have to worry about that of course.
