I doubt it. I'm sure they hear so much stuff everyday that after a little while they are numb. I think anyone would be.

I remember years ago a guy gave me an old programmable scanner. I punched in some police codes and would listen to it odd nights. After a few months I had enough of it and tossed it in a box.

I'll just say Chicago is a very busy place for the police. I was shocked at how much I heard on the radio and never saw in the papers.

wow, that sucks. sorry that happened to you. I remember I was walking home from Walgreens on night in late May (a couple of weeks before I moved out of Pilsen. probably went to Walgreens to buy more tape) and witnessed a car pull up alongside a man walking w/ his girlfriend/wife and a little girl (barely 5) near Damen and Cermak and shoot at the guy before driving away down Damen. thankfully, no one was hit, but it was still scary, esp, I can imagine, for the little girl

IDK, but in the last few weeks I lived there, it seemed like there was a spike in crimes. I also used to live by Harrison Park and remember it being pretty busy w/ baseball games last summer, however, last time I was there, the park itself was closed and under construction. it's horrible to think this happened so close to a playground, daycare center, school, and fairly popular museum. you'd think the cops would try harder to catch the creep considering all the kids around that area

This kind of stuff doesn't usually seem real to me, but I kind of feel like I know you in some way. Very scary. I'm glad you're okay (and your family too).

The scary thing is that he probably wouldn't have taken the time to let you get your daughter out of her car seat if he had successfully gotten you to stop. You did the right thing in retrospect. Perhaps it was some mother instincts kicking in.

No doubt about it. And anyone who thinks there isnt a race (or at least class) distinction about what stories get reported are fooling themselves. Look at all the publicity the muggins in Lincoln Park have gotten. Yea, like that isnt going on [b]every night]/url] in dozens of neighborhoods around the city
