Does anyone know the safest parts of these neighborhoods? I am looking to move to Rogers Park or Uptown, and I am seeing apartments/studios in the area and is there a difference in terms of the safety/people in East Rogers Park vs. West Rogers Park? I am going to safely assume that the closer you are 2 the shore, the better it is? Also, My friend told me about the "Hoe stroll" in Uptown that I should stay clear from if I decide to move here. Anyone heard of this area? Thanks so much...

PS. - Also considering Ukraianian Village - It has that Brooklynite vibe....

There are tons of threads on Rogers Park, do asearch for some info.

As far as East Rogers Park Vs. West Rogers Park...

West Rogers Park seems to have more traditional homes and One and Two Bedroom Apartments. East Rogers Park is mainly apartments with quite a few studios.

I do not see much of a safety difference between East and West (others may disagree). That said, if you decide on East Rogers Park there is a big difference between living North or South of Touhy Avenue. South of Touhy you have quite a few more college kids and few more restaurants and foot traffic. North of Touhy it seems to get a bit dicey.

Also, the area outside the Morse El Station can be a bit dicey as well, but I have never had any issue over there.

Generally speaking the main area to avoid in Rogers Park and West Rogers Park is between Western & Greenview and between Touhy & Juneway Terrace...

I've posted at least a couple of times about the good parts of Uptown, along with a handy dandy map. I suggest doing a search of this forum's Uptown threads.

Buena Park is awesome, live there and love it. Then it turns into a psycho circus as you get closer to Wilson, which is ground zero up through around Lawrence, then gets nice again as you move north.
