CW- OP did not complain about noise at all. Living in LP, noise is something I am forced to deal with constantly from upstairs neighbors and it is a PITA. There are also ordinances against noise after certain hours. For all we know these are 3 or so hard working people and a couple of kids. If your neighbors are out by 7 and in bed by 10 every night but have some clutter that you can see on their balcony it seems to me that you might be overstretching what an annoyance is. When you choose to live in a multi-unit building in a dense city you acknowledge the annoyances that come along with such a life. Not every neighbor is an 85 year old rent controlled one that never makes a peep. I would rather have a quiet but cluttered family living below me any day than a couple of noisy Depaul kids.

I live next to St Mikes in Old Town Triangle but I get a lot of young LP party types living in my building.

Default I know that if I was..

..one of the 5 tenants, I wouldn't be too crazy about that arrangement..

..completely agree with the sentiments about living with students, as opposed with quiet, working adults. You learn pretty quickly, especially in Boston, to make sure that you have as few students in your neighborhood as possible, and most importantly, NEVER, EVER, live underneath an apartment full of undergraduates....unless peace and quiet at night aren't priorities for you.

I was always very quiet. God damnit. And I was a crazy person in my college days.

I would bust that **** up in a second. But I'm in a condo building, and we're pretty stringent about that type of thing. Renters are watched like hawks here. We fine unit owners that have problem renters.

You're racist to assume that a crowded apartment is occupied by a certain race. For all you know, they could be some white college kids or something!
