I grew up in Logan Square, lived in Chicago for 30 years. For the last 7 years I've been existing in Louisville, Ky. No comparison to Chicago.
Kick me in the head for leaving Chicago, I deserve it. Don't ask me why I did it.
Anyway I'd like to get back. I have acquired two small terriers that are important to me and plan to keep them. Without them I will not move.
I'd like to know which neighborhoods (moderately priced) would offer the best chances for renting with small dogs. The lake is beyond my finances, but I was thinking maybe areas west of Pulaski on the Northwest side. It's possible I could get a job at Resurrection Hospital on Talcott. I'd like a 1 bedroom for about $700-$750. Is that possible?
I sure would appreciate all advice. Knowing the city very well (I drove a cab for 5 years) it's not necessary to describe where certain streets are located.
Thanks for all advice.

Yikes two dogs. $700/ month. You are correct about the lake front being out of reach. I think City of Chicago might be out of reach too. Just start making calls, there are always some desperate landlords. Harwood Heights and Norrridge might be good places to look too, if you don't NEED a Chicago address why pay for one? Maybe Niles or Morton Grove too. Do you have an in as Res?
