So, it just so happens that I started dating my gf on July 3rd - same night as the big fireworks show. I was wanting to take her out to a place where we could watch the fireworks.

I've heard of the Signature Room, but they can't guarantee a window seat. (which would defeat the whole purpose)

Does anyone know of any good alternatives?

it won't be romantic but, if you can guarantee a patio seat at bubba gump on the pier the fireworks will be going off literally right above you. i think signature room would be best but i'm sure hundreds of other people will have the same idea.

Well - I can always do the nice romantic dinner and then go for drinks afterward (the fireworks don't start till 9:30 after all)

Wouldn't the pier be super crowded though??

To tell you the truth, the pier wasn't THAT crowded when we went.
A lot of people sit at the edge of the beaches too.

plus the alderman require any outdoor seating at restaurants to have fencing up so you might have the most breathing room on the pier by sitting at a table.

God, Melissa. Sometimes... It is a nice little ornate barricade that goes around sidewalk seating so that pedestrians don't walk into your table. It is totally logical and required for all outdoor seating.

Ok, we have some of those too but mostly we don't. Although, I'm pretty sure our sidewalks aren't as crowded as they are in Chicago !
