Lincoln will be great if you want more to look at than the lakeshore path provides. Lots of great little shops and if the weather is nice should be good for people watching. Just be careful for soccer moms opening their car doors at you.

Like I said before there is a Cubs game tomorrow. I would avoid Lincoln as well.

I dont know how huge a problem that'll be on Lincoln. Lincoln gets pretty slow anyway, but there's room to ride between traffic and parked cars.

I ride up through there before and during Cubs games with some frequency. As Lincoln slants to the Northwest, there's not a huge reason for people to head North on it around Addison or IP.

Even so, it's not hard to ride up Lincoln even when cars are moving pretty slowly.

But hey. If you find Lincoln troublesome, you can always head west sooner than Montrose (on, say, Diversey) and North on, say, California to Montrose.

That is a good suggestion as well.

I might be more inclined to suggest taking LaSalle/Clark/Lincoln/Armitage/Racine/Cortland/Mendell/Armitage from the lake....(or North/Clybourn/Cortland/Mendell/Armitage from the lake)

...and then Humboldt/Sacramento to Logan and Logan to California/Manor/Wilson to the heart of Albany Park.

Here I am!

I put your locations on Microsoft Streets & Trips. Start out at 58th & Woodlawn and bike to Lake Shore Drive and hit that bike path up to Montrose! Then straight down Montrose to Pulaski! That's it! Lake shore drive bike path - almost nonstop / no car traffic!

But keep a little distance when biking by cars, and up to 18 mph speed. Any higher you can get hurt bad if "door'ed."

AF- North Av doesn't have a bike lane at all and from Cleveland or thereabouts to Elston there are several of those sinkholes that have eaten both the manhole and the barricade so bikers are forced to go right into traffic. I'd recommend avoiding it all together.
