And sure enough, it seems there isn't any criminal action involving a cop in this town that does not also involve some sort of official corruption. Looks as though the arresting officers waited 4 hours to administer a breathalyzer and 12 hours to take a blood sample.

At least they only waited 4 hours this time. The usual wait time for administering a breathalyzer to a drunk-driving cop is 8 hours.

Refusing a breathalyzer is a summary offense. I doubt civilians are allowed to refuse a breathalyzer for 4 hours before finally submitting. And then why'd they wait an additional 8 hours to do a blood test?

When Nolan was shooting the Bat flicks here in the city he could have just used actual cops for the roles of the ones on the take.

This is what, at least the 2nd, if not third DUI death involving a Chicago cop within the past month? Nah, there's no problems in the CPD, it's as fine and upstanding an agency as you could find.

It's a group of 10,000 people. Sh*t's gonna happen. It's the "official corruption" angle that bothers me, such as the 4-hour delay before a DUI test is administered. Though if the CPD's story is to be believed, it was because of his own refusal and they finally "talked him into it" which is kind of plausible.

Yeah, I know. I was just thinking that one person making a mistake isn't a cause for outrage. What does annoy me no end is the CPD pretending to investigate whether or not any favoritism was shown. How stupid do they think we are, of course there was. I would have a lot more respect for the organization if they would just admit right away that a breathalyzer test should have been administered immediately.

You have the right to refuse.

If you refuse they can bring you directly to jail which is what they did in this case.

It is not just cops that refuse to take this test.
