I live in Houston but have a friend who is going to have her baby (any minute now) at Northwestern. I would like to send my friend and her husband some flowers after the baby is born. Does anyone have recommendations on a good, reputable florist in the area that will deliver to the hospital?

Thanks!!

Which Northwest location is it? Evanston or Chicago?

There is a very good florist in the Park Evanston, right next to the Whole Foods downtown.

1-800-FLOWERS. They have a bajillion options and deliver nationally. You may be able to get nicer arrangements locally but every time I have used these guys my flowers deliver promptly, the note is always correct and they last for quite a while.

Oh No! I don't know the location!! My guess is that it is the Chicago location since they live in Lincoln Park. I will have to look into that. Thanks so much...all suggestions welcome.

You are definitely in luck! Probably the oldest floral business in Chicago (and a great one!) Ashland-Addison has a shop in the Galter Paviliion at Northwestern Memorial. They take calls and orders 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. 1-800-348-1157 www.ashaddflorist.com.
I sent an arrangement of pink and white tulips to Prentice (the maternity center) for twins just last week, it was stunning.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I ended up using the in-house florist that Mamama Mia recommended. I LOVED the idea of the pink and white tulips but they were out of them...a nice Spring bouquet will have to do.
