I am going to Chicago in late June with a bunch of girls for a bachelorette party and we are trying to find a hotel. Where is a great place to stay that is walking distance to fun bars or places we can take the bride?
Nothing extremely ritzy... we are looking for something unique and of course as affordable as possible!

Also, any suggestions on where to take the bride for her big night out? dinner and bar suggestions would be much appreciated! The bride loves to try new kinds of food, so something cultural or different would be great.

Thanks!

I'd look into the Days Inn on the 600 block of West Diversey Avenue. You can't throw a rock in any direction from there without hitting a bar.

lots and lots of bars on rush and the chicago ave vicinity. that area of town is called near north. before i lived here i stayed at the W (I think it's on Ontario).

The ones in Lincoln Park on Diversey and in the Depaul area are directed at a college crowd. Some are fun others can get a bit rowdy with frat types so it's more of a gamble.

dont go to bars on rush street, its all old dudes who drive bentleys, plus they are more restaurant bars. the clubs up there were big 5-10 years ago but not really anymore. division is more people from the burbs, out of town, etc. the 25-35 year olds hang out more around hubbard street between state and wells. some bars are bull&bear, english, rockit, hub51, martini park. some clubs are underground, rhino, nv penthouse. diversey is about 15-20 minutes from the downtown area, and while theres some good places up there, its more or a bar, college scene, and theres not too many hotels.

I just stayed at the hostel on Arlington Place for 83.00 for three people. I would recommend it if you just need a place to stay!
