Cobolt, your stories made me laugh and I can totally relate!

A few years back, I was eating lunch with my elderly Sicilian grandmother (I am half Italian, half German). The Italian waiter was flirting with me. He was also wearing that "New Jersey Vinnie" ensemble w/black t-shirt, gold chain w/italian horn, etc. My grandmother disapproved. She pulled him aside and whispered something to him in Italian. He looked shocked and never spoke to me again. I asked her to translate and she said it meant "If you run I shoot, if you stand I stab" This was from a cute, 5 foot, 90 year old! She was still standing tough with her Sicilian fighting words!

You've really got to hand it to those short, tough, Mediterranean grandmas. I tell you, mine could hike up her dress and fight on any battleground. She didn't even take Zeus aside and whisper a warning. She simply, as if she were asking for a glass of water, threatened him. She must have! In fact, I thought she WAS ordering something until I noticed our waiters were nowhere to be found and we were reassigned a waitress, who, may I add, seemed to admire my grandma very much! Word gets around. And yes, those two Adonis men were working that whole cologne bath thingy. Yuck.

That's why those guys usually only care to visit a select few cities in America. NY, LA, Miami, maybe Vegas, the only cities you can dress like and not at be looked as if you just landed from Mars. Women in the midwest, typically don't like when a guy is overstyled, although there are some who do.

Personally, I think David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Verdasco, etc...all have amazing style. They are the worldwide trendsetters.

There are many male fashionistas in Chicago and Minneapolis, but they are certainly not the dominant type of guy here. Nor are they the dominant type of guy in New York!

I've heard it told that my Brazilian had to be forced into deodorant.

But like any good metrosexual, he adapted radically and has since become obsessed

My entire family is Italian, still living in Italy. I have stories about my grandma too

No, New York has the gay straight-guy, who is the man exposed to so much antique furniture/cocktails/clothing stores that he gets excited over deals at Lauren.

I was mostly accustomed to the prospect of dating gay men still closested fro the rest of my life, and thus this worked out very well for me.
