a store called BargainTown? Wasn't it a Chicagoland toystore before Toys R Us took it over? I remember going there as a kid, but I don't remember if it was just one store or a local chain? And I can't recall where it was located.

I guess I'm feeling a bit nostalgic with all the bad local, national, economic, international news. I'm thinking back to my childhood days when life was simple, and I woke up every morning to Ray Rayner with his notes pinned to his jumpsuits, Diver Dan, Cuddly Dudley, bad crafts and tomato plants in milk cartons. Nicer thoughts than layoffs and stimulus bills.

ANyway, back to Bargain Town.

There were even Cuddly Dudley stuffed dogs in that commercial. How cool is that?

Maybe you have to be over 40 to remember BargainTown. I don't know. I did like the Tiddley Winks on the Cut Rate Toys. Never heard of the store, though.

I'm 40, and I don't remember Bargain Town. I used to love watching Ray Rayner, and I did have a Cuddly Duddly.

Toys R Us Children's Bargain Town. I remember. Loved Ray Raynor! Wasn't there a Ronson Rabbitt or something like that on the show that clicked out his responses? I keep telling my teen that's who he reminds me of when he texts ALL day long!
