We live in Roseland.

The Lakewood/Balmoral area of Andersonville (bounded by Clark, Foster, Broadway and Bryn Mawr) is a trick-or-treat hotspot for a lot of families who don't necessarily live in the neighborhood.

If you're in Roseland go to Beverly/Mt Greenwood to trick or treat. Or come to Blue Island, and trick or treat on Ann Street (2500W), between 120th - 123rd. The families there go all out with the decorations - its scary and rather crowded, though.

That's a shame that you can't do something as simple as trick or treat.

I like cdc's suggestion; try Beverly out.

Thank you for the suggestions. This should be the first and only year we are living here in Roseland, so I know it wont be an issue after this. Again, I appreciate it very much.

Too bad you're so far south, I can't help. We'll be trick or treating in Andersonville between Glenwood and Broadway. Should be fun.

I concur. Once in the early 90s (when i was trick-or-treating), I witnessed two bus loads of non-local kids get dropped off. There must have been 50+ candy-crazed kids wearing surgical masks running door to door.

I laugh when I hear co-workers mention their 'onslaught' and how they used four bags of candy. Eight large bags is the bare minimum around LB.

past couple years the trick or treating attendance in residential areas has decreased....and trick or treating at the mall/shopping center/large biznes areas increased.......

on 18th st (Pilsen) it's a madhouse....like a parade really....

I am thinking Andersonville may just be the way to go. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hey, you bunch of dopes, shes not asking for "events" she is asking for the hours when you can ring the neighbors doorbell and shout "trick or treat" and they hand you candy. Some cities regulate that window of time. Does Chicago?
