not trying to sound racist at all, but try Chinatown, it is one stop away on the red line and there are some really affordable apartments there.

Chinatown is not the bargain it was just a few years ago. South Loop development has put price pressure on the real estate market all the way through Bridgeport. Probably still cheaper than the standard North side recommendations though.

You may want to look at Chatham or Hyde Park.

Also, you may want to research properties in Bronzeville and Kenwood.

You may want to refrain from posting misleading information.

Are you referring to my posts? If so, exactly why do you feel they are misleading?

Uhhh Chatham?

To begin with, Chatham is so far from Columbia College you might as well recommend the person to live in Evanston.

What can possibly be the reasoning behind recommending Chatham?

This thread is also over a year old. I am sure the OP found somewhere to live or decided not to move at all long ago.

First of all, Chatham is a decent area with lots of affordable housing. Kenwood, Hyde Park and Bronzeville are even closer to Columbia than Chatham. Anyway,
Columbia is easy to get to via the Red line from 79th or 87th and the Ryan if in Chatham. Furthermore, I was not aware this thread was closed to new comments.

You still didn't explain why you called my post misleading. Is my post misleading because my recommendations are not the same as yours or what?
