I don't think a rebuttal against the brilliant "They're all the same!" drivel is necessary, especially in a thread about smoking in Chicago.

it's not drivel when it is factual. the last real president this country had was JFK and you know how that turned out...

and it is relevant because what causes people to smoke besides weakness? stress! and people are stressed out from many things and most of those things are connected in one way or another to the leader of this country and his choices, past or present.

hey, i didn't mean to offend you but i was looking for reasons as to why Obama is not the same as all the others and skin color has nothing to do with it because he is just as much white as he is black. i was listing reasons as he was just one of all the same due to his voting history. i don't see any reason as to why he'll be some magical savior...maybe you do. again, sorry if i offended you jdiddy.

Actually, one of the biggest downers for me regarding "my hero" was the fact that he does smoke. At least he is trying to stop and has pledged to make the White House smoke-free.

Is that a fact? WOW!

Could you imagine what would happen if whites voted that heavily for a white candidate?

Yeah he has been trying to quit for over two years. I do not think he really wants to. Btw- I know some people that were high up in his campaign and I was told in the Spring and Summer he was still smoking like a chimney then. Maybe he toned it down a bit in the last few months, but I doubt it.

Hillary Clinton made the White House smoke-free while her hubby was in office. Obama is not starting something new there. Yeah I know, Obama cant take credit there it sucks does it not?

If Obama wants to he can make the White House publicly smoking friendly again. I do not see this happening though.

However,I am sure he will smoke wherever the hell he wants to. I cant imagine (any) President going outside in freezing weather to smoke.
