Hello there!

Our family is looking to move from Park Ridge to the city as our son will be attending high school there. We currently own a beautiful single-family home in Park Ridge and are looking for a comparable home in the city to swap with for a period of time.

Our home in Park Ridge is valued at 1M and we are looking for a home of similar value in the city. We are open to condos, single family etc... Bucktown, Edgewater, wicker park, Gold Coast, river north etc...
If you are interested in swapping your city home for our Park Ridge that boasts excellent school system, please DM. While it may be unusual, why not try?

Thx for your consideration.

Is this a thing? Are there any websites /services available? If not- this may be an interesting startup idea!

It's not common because it is a legal can of worms. The prospect of you finding someone willing to trade at all is extremely low, let alone on a forum like this with only a couple handfuls of active users.

Why don't you just rent out your home, at cost or a bit more, and then establish residence in the city?
