I am working in Hoffman Estates so I would like to find a safe and convenient apartment near the blue line. Many people told me to find a place in Bucktown or Wicker Park but that's not necessary. I am on a time crunch and I would just like to get advice about surrounding areas. My ideal place would be a 1 bedroom with my max price being around $1200. Thanks.

If you want a commute that won't make you want to slaughter the innocent, look in Northwest neighborhoods such as Jefferson Park, Norwood Park, Oriole Park, etc. Look for places near the Jefferson Park, Harlem and Cumberland stops. These neighborhoods are kind of boring, but they'll get you to work in a reasonable amount of time and have access to public transportation that can get you to most of the north and northwest side entertainment districts in a reasonable amount of time.
