I am no longer comfortable in the general Boystown area and Addison Red Line areas after several people in my friend circle have been robbed in the area, usually late at night. The appearance is definitely different, but I view the risk of crime in those areas along the same lines as Howard Red Line. I rented an apartment over in Wrigleyville for two years until last year and the stuff that you would see and hear was anything but posh.

well i certainly wont disagree there...wrigleyville might be my least favorite area of the city due to high numbers of entitled whiteboys emboldened by liquid courage and strength in numbers.

That corner is only a block away from Evanston. I think the OP might be overreacting since she could be equidistant on the Evanston side of the city limits and it would be considered a "safe" area by most CD members. It's not like there are border controls on the city line that could deter crime to either side.

Lived in RP for years and literally just visited a friend who lives at Sheridan & Lunt. Also, friend just opened a business near the Morse Redline. The area is fine. Some good restaurants/markets and beach access without LSD in the way. Popular area for immigrants, but more college students the closer you get to Loyola. Good transit access too.

I did notice the empty lot where Heartland Cafe used to be which was sad to see.

Loved the Heartland Cafe. Fond memories of having vegetarian food on their outdoor patio.
