Hi all,

My husband and I are considering a move to Chicago in the next year. We are wondering if anyone who has purchased in the city has had good luck with any particular real estate agents (or horror stories). This would be our first home purchase of any kind, so we're not sure where to start. Thank you for any advice!

Hi,
My wife and I have just bought a condo in the city, in Roscoe Village. We are extremely happy with our realtor Beverly Bahm of DreamTown. Contact me privatly if you want her contact info.

Thanks for the recommendation--I'm glad to hear DreamTown was helpful. I found them online a while ago, and their automated website sends me listings every few days. It's good to hear from someone who actually used them though. How do you like Roscoe Village?

Roscoe Village is a very nice little neighborhood very close to the Loop. It feels like a cute small town in the middle of the city! You got restaurants, bars, stores, good schools and nice parks, it's perfect for families with small kids as well as young people.

?Very close to the Loop??

I have friends that live in Roscoe Village. It is decent enough commute to the Loop, but if you want closer to the Loop there are places like Old Town, Ukrainian Village, Lincoln Park, Greektown, Printers Row and others.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still trying to learn the neighborhoods--is Roscoe Village close to Avondale? Is Avondale a good place to be?

Roscoe Village is close to Avondale. It is not right next to it, but it is very close to parts of Avondale. Search for Avondale in this forum. We just went through this.

I consider 15/20 minutes miles from the loop very close! It's a matter of opinions...

Anita Constant of Coldwell Banker Lincoln Park Plaza is great tell her that Dr. Storey gave you the recommendation. She has good knowledge of the area. She takes care of a broad range of price points.
