The following are the four sites Mayor Lightfoot is considering for the new Chicago casino:

• Michael Reese site south of McCormick Place

• US Steel site on the far south lakefront

• Lawndale at Roosevelt and Kostner

• Far, far south at Harborside (near Pullman)

• Former Taylor Homes site near Sox Park

Operating on "there will be one...whether you like it or not", which site would you select and why?

The following choice will not appear in the poll, but if you were to choose another location, where would it be?

Perhaps I am not the one to ask, as I would almost never go. These days, a casino should be convenient, close to out of town visitors, and especially for those with money. Near McCormick Place has all these. OHare would be a good choice if it weren't for nearby Rivers.

None of the above. Tourists will be unlikely to go to these locations, though Reese is the nearest to McCormick Place and downtown. Many city and suburban residents wont travel to the other neighborhoods.

literally none of those.. as they are all horrible choices... unless you want to continue to screw over the people in under served communities by putting a casino there

nobody wants to live near a casino permanently.... Chicago is so stupid and always trying to score political points with the south and west sides... you have to put this in the loop or near McCormick place or something near a bunch of hotels to snag all those tourist dollars... I'm sure theres a few empty floors of some high rise somewhere... taking money from the already uneducated and poor community is just dumb and sad, but it is totally Illinois/Chicago style corruption

ditto. Could do well with a hotel attached (like Pottawatomi) with a lounge on top with great views of skyline and lake.

For transportation, this might be the best site as Metro would be adjacent to One Central (if it is built) which is designed to have a major transportation center. Green Line station of Cermak not that far.

which is sort of the point: it could use development. But you certainly pointed out the dicey issue of infusing new blood into a community that could use it, but by choosing that locale arguably getting the worst bang for your buck.

Laughable choices, even Reese. No one is going to the hood to gamble.

Casinos bring poverty, crime, corruption, and a horrible street experience... why add that to an already impoverished and blighted community? They sure as heck aren't going to hire people from the community that they are putting it in, and guess what, casino jobs SUCK anyway and pay jack squat.
