I may have to move to Chicago within the year. Not only have I never been there, but I don't really know anyone. I'll be 28 by the time I have to move. What are the best neighborhoods for someone my age? As of now, I'm single. I'm willing to pay a few extra dollars to be in a fun neighborhood. My job would be on E. Wacker Dr.

Any suggestions?

Yup, those are the main ones. Any of those would be fine- though my main suggestions to any young transplant if they can afford it are Lakeview, Wicker Park and Lincoln Park.

I'd do Lincoln Park. I'm 22 and I love it there. There are sports bars, LOTS of restaurants, and cute places to shop. However, you must HUNT for a deal in lincoln park. My b/f and I found a 1 bedroom at Deming/Clark in Lincoln Park for $985. Steal.

Default a good resource

Check out the Chicago Reader. It is a free newspaper with tons of apartments and entertainment events. Also, they have a great website with the same. p.s. I would suggest Lakeview (60657) or Lincoln Park(60614). You can look for apts. by zipcode using their "spacefinder" feature.
